Zaman is a native of Montrose Guyana, who migrated to New York with his family in January of 1996. Zaman always had an energetic passion for dancing and theater. He started acting while attending Far Rockaway High School in Queens, NY in plays like “Little Shop of Harris” and “The Wiz”. In an effort to purse his passion for the performing arts, he studied dance with the Ghungroos Dance Academy for five years under the instructions of his Guru International Dancer Dheeraj. Zaman took dance and theater work shops with the Raj Kumari Cultural Center under the instructions of Phrita Singh, Radha Singh, Denyse Baboolal from Jaya Devi Art, and from Nirvana Humanitarian Foundation with Ramesh Deochand & Lakshmee Singh.
Zaman is now a trained Kathak, Orissi, Bollywood, Bhangra and Chutney dancer and a proud member of the LGBTQ community who has uses his performing arts to represent the Caribbean culture throughout New York and the tri-state areas.
He has showcased the Caribbean cultural multiple productions included: the NYC Queens Pride in 2010 and 2012, the Bronx Pride 2012 and the Gay Caribbean Pageant 2010, & 2011. First West Indian Music Award (NY) , Diwali Show 2008 (NY), the 2009 (NY) 2012 (NY) & 2014 (FL) Kitcheri Festivals. In 2013 Zaman was casted in the musical dance dramas: "Shakti" (NY), "The Parika Market Starboy" (NY) and in 2014 "Chaykay" (FL). Has participated In multiple fundraising events throughout the tri-state. Including the First Cancer Walk in Richmond Hill, Bellydamce Gala Fundraiser St. Peter's/ Gloria Dei- Guatemala Mission Trip, Angelman Syndrome Awareness Concert, Fight For A Cure again Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome along with numerous other fundraising events for Temples and community organizations.
